Having received a "reality-testing" mechanism ordered from a dream research lab, I'd been trying to attain a lucid dream state for days, sleeping late, neglecting even my most pressing work. Finally, late one morning, in a "sleep paralysis" state, I succeeded! Focusing on the sound of the connecting bathroom's shower running, I managed to apparently detach my dream body from my walking one and stood up, looking back at my own body on the bed! For some reason this terrified me, so I looked away, floating up to the top of a clothes cabinet where Barbara had placed a sheet of paper with a symbol of some sort on it for me to verify any possible "out-of-body" experiences. It was indecipherable to me, a very complex graph with meaningless number combinations. Shortly, having awakened, I discovered that Barb's daughter, Tara, had indeed been showering, but that the symbol on the paper was in reality a simple five-pointed star. So much for my astral trip!
I remain skeptical but open-minded.
